New research from ECU questions the existing evidence in relation to CTE.

Several researchers from a range of academic specialties in Australia and overseas have queried the methodology and findings of a highly publicised 2022 article, which claimed the link between repetitive head impacts CTE.

Injury Epiemiologist and study lead, Dr Lauren Fortington joined told Jo McManus on Perth Live the initial research can't establish the link.

"We're not saying it's not the cause, it may well be, but we don't have the evidence at the moment to really put that down," she says.
