We begin the episode with creepy Gil, who notices the dinosaur toy by his wife's body... but doesn't even register its significance, and kicks it aside. We return to Poppy and Tora making their way to the coffee shop.
They are conducting a light-hearted conversation, but inside of Tora's head, nervous and agitated thoughts are racing.
We flashback to when Tora broke into Gil's apartment, where he overhears Gil's wife talking to their unborn child, showing him the stegosaurus toy she made. Tora flashes back to what we assume is someone showing him a T-Rex toy. When Gil's wife starts crying, Tora high tails it out of there.
All these thoughts are swirling in Tora's head as they enter the cafe. He recollects their efforts to track Gyu and berates himself for not being more active. Receiving the text from Pinkie that Gil is gone is the final straw.
He snaps into full work mode, curtly dismisses Poppy, and walks out.
Poppy steels herself just enough to walk about, but the moment she has some privacy, her defenses come down and she starts crying.
We discuss the implications of this behavior for Tora and Poppy and what it means for the story overall.
