Sarah Kirwan is a wheelchair basketball player, coach, and manager. She was born and raised in Sioux City, Iowa. In her youth, she was an athlete and a musician. She played a variety of sports and played the saxophone. She attended the University of Iowa on a volleyball and music scholarship, majoring in English, Journalism, and Mass Communications. She received her master's from Cal State LA in Public Administration. She currently spearheads her consulting firm, Eye Level Communications, which focuses on disability, diversity, and inclusion. She also hosts her own podcast – Incluse This! She was diagnosed with relapsing, remitting MS in 2011, and in 2019 she was diagnosed with superior semicircular canal dehiscence.
