Senator Turner highlights civil-rights trailblazer Ella Baker (1903-1986). SNT plants revolutionary seeds in us today as Ella Baker did to millions of others decades ago. One main thought? Let's Embrace Loss and Healing with Marisa Renee Lee
Author, Marisa Renee Lee speaks with Senator Turner about healing, love and loss during a grieving experience. Marisa talks about grief, healing oneself and confirming that it's ok to maintain a spiritual relationship with a loved one that you've lost - that is a form of healing. While in the process of redefining her personal grief process, Marisa wrote a book called Grief is Love (April 2022). Grief is Love gives us the most uplifting and personal story of Marisa’s journey. As we read through her experiences she hopes to help others who are navigating through loss and healing.   Links: Book- Grief is Love https://www.target.com/p/grief-is-love-by-marisa-renee-lee-hardcover/-/A-84196806?ref=tgt_adv_XS000000&AFID=google_pla_df&fndsrc=tgtao&DFA=71700000012764139&CPNG=PLA_Entertainment%2BShopping_Local%7CEntertainment_Ecomm_Hardlines&adgroup=SC_Entertainment&LID=700000001170770pgs&LNM=PRODUCT_GROUP&network=g&device=m&location=9015309&targetid=pla-82461913489&ds_rl=1246978&ds_rl=1248099&gclid=CjwKCAjww8mWBhABEiwAl6-2RWn1viemequuXf2gZb24LRODuosqvfuHgUcTW74bharoi-HiPUbafxoCxdkQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds   Quote by Hellen Keller- https://www.all-greatquotes.com/those-who-have-known-suffering/amp/  Tickets are now on sale for the FIRST ever Black Effect Podcast Festival happening on August 28th in Brooklyn, NY! Let's Have a Prosperous Middle Class with Dr. Harvey J. Kaye and Alan Minsky
Senator Turner continues to ignite the call for democracy by discussing the 21st Century Economic Bill of Rights with experts, Harvey J. Kaye (Prof, Emeritus Democracy & Justice Studies, UW Green Bay - @harveyjkaye) and Alan Minsky (Executive Director, Progressive Democrats of America - @pdamerica). Philip Randolph) – Organizer, Father of the Civil Rights Movementhttps://aflcio.org/about/history/labor-history-people/asa-philip-randolph Quotes: We have come to a clear realization of the fact that true individual freedom cannot exist without economic security and independence. “Necessitous men are not free men.” People who are hungry and out of a job are the stuff of which dictatorships are made. In our day these economic truths have become accepted as self-evident. We have accepted, so to speak, a second Bill of Rights under which a new basis of security and prosperity can be established for all regardless of station, race, or creed. – President Franklin Delano Roosevelt (F.D.R.)https://billofrightsinstitute.org/activities/franklin-roosevelt-second-bill-of-rights-1944 What the people want is very simple, they want an America as good as its promise – Congresswoman Barbara Jordanhttps://www.goodreads.com/quotes/10037548-what-the-people-want-is-very-simple---they-want      See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
