Understanding the grip the narcissist has on you post discard, and the seeming inability to break free of the narcissist's spell, can be very upsetting for a lot of the narcissist's ex relationship partners. The hold the narcissist has over their target long after the relationship has ended its cycle, prior to the hoover, seems inexplicable, yet it is not, and can be broken.
