Stop Hiding, Show Up, and Love Yourself
How easily do you express yourself? Would dress up however you like? Even on Halloween? Halloween is a time of year when we're invited to dress up in ways we wouldn't the other 364 days of the year.
In the past, even on Halloween, I'd usually be holding back. Worried about how others would perceive me.
This year was different: I went full out with how I wanted to dress. I wanted to go as a sun god. I found an amazing mask on Etsy, then I just needed to find some Gold shiny clothes to go with it. The shop didn't have any well-fitting gold body suits so I wandered around and then I saw it: The most amazing gold sequin dress. Could I? Would I? I could at least try it on.
A perfect fit! I bought it. What about shoes? Gold shoes that light up?!?! Yes please!
I knew I had an amazing costume, yet I was still worried I might get criticized, but I got so many compliments, and more importantly…I felt amazing. I went with the full expression of my creativity for my sun deity concept.
It really was an expression of loving myself by loving my creativity and the expression of it. When we fully show up, others can see us, and appreciate us too.
