Paul is warning the Christians in the churches in Galatia of the dangers of going back to the foolishness of the walk they had before they were saved. Paul is still teaching them the need to mature and move on from infancy.

Galatians 4 Sons and Heirs 1 Now I say that the heir, as long as he is a child, does not differ at all from a slave, though he is master of all, 2 but is under guardians and stewards until the time appointed by the father. 3 Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world. Paul is teaching the Christians in the churches of Galatia that it is necessary to spiritually grow up. Not to revert back to childish ways. Paul is teaching that in a world full of division there is a place where we belong and are welcomed as we are heirs according to the promise.

Galatians 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. Paul is teaching the Christians in the churches throughout Galatia that although distinctions among people in the church do exist, these distinctions and differences do not determine a person’s value or their access to God. The body of Christ is diverse, made up of many different parts yet all necessary. You can have unity without uniformity.

Luke 2:10-12 10 Then the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. 11 "For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. 12 "And this will be the sign to you: You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a manger." The message to the shepherds was also an invitation. It was a personal invitation. "I bring YOU good tidings..." The invitation is for you personally as well. As the shepherds responded to the invitation, so can you!

Pastor Lowell teaches on Galatians 3:26 "For you are all sons of God through faith in Jesus Christ" on 12/18/2024 for our Wednesday Service. Galatians 3:26 For you are all sons of God through faith in Jesus Christ. Paul has been teaching about a Tutor. The tutor is a school master. One who instructs the little children in the ways of the family. Once a child is of age they no longer need a tutor. They work alongside their parents. Paul points out the connection by saying that we are all sons of God through faith in Jesus Christ. We have moved from the school master to now being and working alongside our Father.

But before faith came, we were kept under guard by the law, kept for the faith which would afterward be revealed. Therefore the law was our tutor to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith. But after faith has come, we are no longer under a tutor.

Pastor Lowell teaches from Galatians 3:21 "The law and promises of God" for our Sunday morning service. Galatians 3: 21 Is the law then against the promises of God? Certainly not! For if there had been a law given which could have given life, truly righteousness would have been by the law. Paul shares that the covenant of the law does not contradict nor is it in competition with the superior covenant of the promise given to Abraham. In fact the covenant of the law complements the promise. Paul shares that the law cannot give life. It only proves death at it points to life.

Pastor Lowell teaches from Galatians 3:20 "Now a mediator does not mediate for one only, but God is one.” on 12/4/2024 for our Wednesday service. Paul continues to contrast the covenant of the law with the superior covenant of the promise given to Abraham. Paul contrasts the mediated covenant of the law and the superiority of the unmediated promise God has given to Abraham.

Pastor Lowell teaches from Galatians 3:19 “What purpose does the law serve?” for our Sunday service. Galatians 3:19 What purpose then does the law serve? It was added because of transgressions, till the Seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was appointed through angels by the hand of a mediator. Paul continues to address the issue that were coming into the early church as legalists and Judaizers were saying that keeping the law was necessary.
