Becky is a mom and runs a ranch at her home In Pendleton, Oregon. She is a powerful intercessor and is the show director for Happy Canyon at the Pendleton Roundup. She is also an author and a good friend. She would probably tell you all of these things are just assignments from God and not her identity. At a deeper level, she is a friend of God and a beloved daughter of our Father. This is true for all of us as followers of Christ. When we closed our interview titled A Journey Into Wisdom with our good friend Steve McIndoo, Jon asked him a question that was essentially attempting to ascertain where Steve had come to in his journey- what is the most important thing in life? To which he replied, “Intimacy with Jesus.” Full stop. Although that answer did not catch us off guard, it did give us pause. We wanted to have Steve back in the studio for a 2 part conversation in our [RE]DISCOVER JESUS series to give this category the time it deserves and have some dialogue around intimacy with Jesus. In so many ways, that is ultimately what we are after here on the OG podcast- a deeper walk with God.    In Waking the Dead, John Eldredge says, “We take folks through a discipleship program whereby they master any number of Christian precepts and miss the most important thing of all, the very thing for which we were created: intimacy with God (my emphasis added). There are, after all, those troubling words Jesus spoke to those who were doing all the “right” things: “Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you’” (Matthew 7:23). Knowing God. That’s the point.   You might recall the old proverb: “Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.” The same holds true here. This week Jon and kD turn the word success on its head and redefine success as a life lived with God- the “with God” life. We press into what it looks like to walk in both wisdom and revelation. As we move deeper into wisdom we begin to turn the corner and encounter revelation as well. In this week’s episode the Spirit illuminates how the two go hand in hand- wisdom and revelation. We explore revelation as the revealing of the person of God in Christ by pressing into personal stories as well as stories of a couple of characters in scripture, Paul and Solomon. By comparing and contrasting their lives we find ourselves asking, “Was Paul better off than Solomon?” Although Solomon was under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit in his writing, Paul had more fullness of revelation in Christ with the Spirit living inside of him. Did Paul live a more fulfilled life than Solomon? We’ll let you ask the Spirit to reveal that to you.  Jon tells stories of how Steve, our guest from Episodes 4 and 5, helped him move further down the path from wisdom to both wisdom and revelation in his walk with God. David tells a story of how Jesus came through in making a way to go on a mission trip in a season where there seemingly was no way with limited financial resources. The episode ends with Jesus speaking the word, “segway”.
