The 2023/24 Serie A season has come to an end with Frosinone heading down to Serie B, along with Sassuolo and Salernitana after some final-day drama.
Empoli, Udinese and Frosinone were the teams at risk on Matchday 38 and the Canarini were actually the least likely to go down, but a loss at home to Udinese and a win for Empoli against AS Roma with a 93rd-minute goal sealed the deal.
There was also a win for Atalanta at home to Torino which confirmed that they will finish higher than fifth, which in turn means Roma cannot qualify for the Champions League and must settle for the Europa League instead.
Once Atalanta and Fiorentina face each other in their rearranged fixture, we'll have a full review podcast of the season with the whole team.
To talk through Matchday 38 we have a croaky Conor Clancy and Euan Burns on this week’s Total Italian Football Podcast.
The Total Italian Football Podcast is here to discuss it and the rest of the weekend’s games. You can support Total Italian Football and the Total Italian Football Podcast on Patreon.
