Omugo Health Centre IV is a government hospital in Terego district in west Nile and is the only hospital available in a 50 Km radius. It is however operating without power and doctors are improvising with phone lights to deliver patients and perform emergency surgery.

Uganda last week passed one of the toughest anti homosexuality laws in the world criminalizing gay people and creating tough punishments for those who advocate for their rights.

In a letter to the Office of the UN high commissioner for human rights (OHCHR) in Uganda dated 3 February, the foreign affairs ministry said it will not renew the host country agreement it signed with the OHCHR, which established its initial mandate in the country in 2005.
