The DITTS podcast talks about how to create and use teaching materials to introduce bachelor students to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Why DITTS? It's a usable abbreviation for our international project "The Digital Introduction of the Sustainable Development Goals into Higher Education Teaching - with regional aspects from Brazil and South Africa"! In this project, which is funded by the German Academic Exchange Service, the three partner universities from Brazil, South Africa, and Germany are producing open educational resources that will be available for everyone to use as a first step to getting familiar with the SDGs that were initiated by the United Nations. This podcast is for lecturers interested in teaching about the SDGs, but also for students - or any other person who wants to know what these SDGs are! Episode 3 - the student perspective
In this episode, we hear two students talking about their experiences and learnings from participating in the DITTS project. Pedro Henrique Carretta Diniz from the University of Passo Fundo (Brazil) and Lindokuhle Denis Sibiya from the University of South Africa (South Africa) both took part in the project's so-called South-South-Exchange that aims at fostering better understanding and cooperation between the countries from the global south. Pedro joined the Brazilian team in flying to Pretoria, and Lindo visited Passo Fundo with the team from South Africa. In this episode, they both talk about how this affected their personal and professional life and what improvements it brought to our teaching materials.
