Lift Me Up is the singer's new single, included in the soundtrack
Since her last Anti of hers in 2016, Rihanna has thinned out a lot - too much - of her appearances, in public and on the music
scene. It is not just, therefore, that six years later her new single is the Lift Me Up inserted in the soundtrack of the sequel to
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Precisely the characters of the language used by the cinecomic Marvel, expected to be released in cinemas and in cinemas starting from 9 November, stands out on the cover of the disc, intimately linked to the history of
the film and its late protagonist, Chadwick Boseman.
Intended as a tribute to the life and legacy of the actor who died in 2020 at the age of 43, Lift Me Up is the first track from the official soundtrack to be revealed. Written by the Nigerian singer-songwriter Tems, Rihanna, by the film composer Ludwig Göransson and by the director Ryan Coogler himself, it is the only
preview of an album about which not much is known yet.
“After talking to Ryan and listening to his direction of
the film and the song, I wanted to write something that portrayed the warm embrace of all the people I have lost in my life. I tried to imagine how I would feel if I could sing to them now and express how much I miss them - reads a note from the African songwriter. - Rihanna was a source of inspiration for me, hearing her interpret this song is a great honor ”.
Expected on the show at half-time for the next Super Bowl in February, there has been talk of two different albums on which the artist is said to be working for years.
