Xatar wants to wrestle with Dwayne Johnson: Does "Rheingold" have an aftermath against "Black Adam"?
The two films “Black Adam” and “Rheingold” are dominating German cinemas these days. This motivated rapper Xatar to come up with an unusual proposal.
"Black Adam" currently dominates the cinemas of this world. The whole world? Well, pretty much, because in the end, even in Germany, nobody could hold a candle to the DC film with Dwayne Johnson. Newcomer "Rheingold", Fatih Akin's biopic about rapper Xatar, was still in pole position on the first day, but over the whole weekend the film finally had to admit defeat to "Black Adam". According to Blickpunkt:Film, Johnson's DC debut attracted 200,000 admissions, while Rheingold still took second place with 170,000 admissions and at the same time had the best start of director Akin's career.
Xatar, on whose life "Rheingold" is based, did everything imaginable to keep his film at number 1 - and came up with a truly unusual idea. On Instagram he shared the call to drum up the promotion for the film and trump "Black Adam". If that had succeeded, the rapper wanted “Xatar even contacted Dwayne Johnson directly via Instagram, as he himself recorded in a video on his page, teasing that “Rheingold” was number 1 in Germany on Saturday. He promoted the possible fight against The Rock with the hashtag #fightwithselam, which Xatars fans should share under Johnson's posts so that he is aware of the action.

However, in this event fight, Xatar didn't want to step into the ring himself and face off against The Rock. Rather, he would have sent Xalo Selam, his longtime chauffeur and bodyguard, ahead.
It is of course doubtful whether there will actually be a fight. On the one hand, "Rheingold" did not manage to stay at the top of the cinema charts, which Xatar had actually stated as a condition. Nevertheless, he should be interested in organizing a wrestling match with The Rock, after all, that would give him and his film plenty of publicity.
For Dwayne Johnson, however, this only applies to a limited extent. The Hollywood star is always up for a joke or two, but a wrestling match could be a bit too much. After all, injuries cannot be ruled out and the busy Johnson is unlikely to want to take such a risk. Especially since his busy schedule should already stand in the way of such an event. But we remain curious whether the “Black Adam” star will at least be aware of the action initiated by Xatar. That could already be chalked up as a partial success that should not be taken for granted.
