During the performance of "
Terrifier 2" in the United States, many people had to leave the
cinema and throw up. Word seems to have gotten around. And it rather makes
the film more interesting for the audience.
What makes a special horror film? It freezes the blood in the veins of its viewers, causes goosebumps and severe spasms of fear in the
cinema hall. But do you keep a (good) memory of such a
film if you have to throw up because of it?
That happened to numerous viewers when they saw the clown slasher "Terrifier 2". They took to social media to share their reaction to the film's disturbing character and what they considered to be disgusting scenes.
In some places,
cinemas are reportedly even offering puke bags for those who buy a ticket to see the film.
A new cult film?
Is there a new trend emerging? Anyway, the indie film made the top 10 at the box office after opening on October 6th and grossed $1.3 million in its first week. "Terrifier 2" is already a small hit, as the production costs are said to have been less than 250,000 US dollars. And most of them were collected through crowdfunding.
According to Entertainment Weekly, director Damien Leone is pleased with the audience's rather unplanned physical reactions: "I think it's a kind of badge of honor because it's an intense film. I don't want anyone to faint or get hurt. But it's all surreal.” The filmmaker recommends watching “Terrifier 1” comfortably on the sofa at home before “enjoying” his new film, before your stomach starts to turn in the cinema.

The entire history of the horror film in 12 minutes
A murderous clown – that brings back memories, of course. Even if Stephen King didn't spoil anyone's proper digestion of their dinner with "It", he is apparently interested in "
Terrifier 2". The horror pope wrote on Twitter: "This movie 'The Terrifier' looks pretty good. Has anyone seen him yet?”
