Commodore Vijaypal Singh Rawat is an alumnus of the National Defence Academy. He specialized as a Mine Clearing Diving Officer with the First position in the merit in December 1988 and in 1992 he joined Elite Marine Commando Force with the First position again in the order of Merit.
